As you may know, Wal~Mart is involved in a sex discrimination lawsuit that will go before the Supreme Court this year. A large group of women from all over the country, who were employed by the retail giant, want to proceed with a class-action suit claiming that raises and promotions were denied them because of sexual discrimination. Reading Wal~Mart’s lawyers’ arguments has been making me a little stabby, of late. So, I tried to put this out of my head by surfing my usual online haunts. Sadly, an item featured on Regretsy.com brought it all crashing back.
That’s right! It’s a REAL pig’s head shellacked and mounted for your pleasure. (LOVE the Chanel eye-piece.)
Even before I read the “artist’s” description, the Wal~Mart lawsuit and following quote from Orwell’s “Animal Farm” popped into my head.
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
Now, I know Orwell’s book was decrying the hypocrisy of communism; however, I have no qualms about using poetic license to compare Wal-Mart and its lawyers as pigs. Pigs whose diamond encrusted eyes follow the money.
Enjoy walking on two legs, Wal~Mart lawyers…
